CO2 Absorber (Tank Breather)

Demineralized water is water that has had most of its minerals removed. It is crucial for industries like power generation, semiconductors, and pharmaceuticals that have strict regulatory requirements. However, demineralized water is often exposed to CO2 from the air in these plants, which increases its conductivity and makes it appear contaminated. The conductivity can increase to approximately 0.8-1.5 µS/cm depending on the CO2 concentration in the incoming air.

CO2 absorber units for demineralized and condense tanks help maintain stable pH and low conductivity of demineralized water, protecting the process water by preventing CO2 gas in the air from mixing into the water.

The CO2 absorber unit body is manufactured using carbon steel, stainless steel, or PP/HDPE. The CO2 absorber unit is directly connected to the water storage tank and can be fixed on the ground by drawing a pipeline. It contains special filter minerals that change color as they retain CO2 gas. The minerals start off white and change to blue when they have reached the end of their service life. In this case, they must be replaced. The unit is equipped with pressure and vacuum safety valves, differential pressure and pressure sensors, HEPA filter, and transition grids. The positive and negative gas passage through the unit is smooth, ensured by the safety system.
